Naruto Whirlpool

The Naruto whirlpools are one of the largest whirlpools in Japan that can be seen in the Naruto Strait. This is a natural phenomenon that occurs due to the difference in tidal levels between the Seto Inland Sea and the Kii Channel, and you will be overwhelmed by its impact. We recommend boarding a sightseeing boat so you can see the whirlpools up close. There are various types of ships, from small ships to large ships, and you can choose according to your preference. Small boats are especially popular as they offer the thrilling experience of plunging into a whirlpool. We also recommend the observation deck where you can view the whirlpools from above. You can get a panoramic view of the whirlpools from the Onaruto Bridge promenade “Uzu no Michi” or from the observation deck in Naruto Park. In particular, you can see more dynamic whirlpools during the spring and fall when the tidal level difference is large.
